From 1764 through 1889, the Moll family was manufacturers of the Pennsylvania Rifle, or Kentucky Rifle, if you prefer. The name Kentucky Rifle was adopted by the layman because of the popularization it had received in the hands of Daniel Boone, a native Pennsylvanian.
The gunsmiths about 1820 began to increase the length of the barrel for even greater accuracy while decreasing the bore and stock for lighter weight.
